WC NNPGs explain replacement of V Nagi

Dimapur, July 25 (MExN): The Working Committee (WC), NNPGs, has informed that as per the order of the president NNC (Parent Body) made available to Convener WC and other Co-conveners on June 6, the Central Executive Council Members of NNC (Parent Body) convened a meeting at Dimapur and endorsed Toshi Walling to represent the group as Co-convener of WC, NNPGs, replacing V Nagi. Since then, Toshi Walling Co-convener and Liangkebo Zeliang are representing the group.

This was stated in a press release from the Media Cell of the WC, NNPGs.

In that, it was hoped that V Nagi, “as a committed national leader and General Secretary,” would “exercise wisdom and work closely” with NNC (Parent Body) President Z Royim Yimchunger and Toshi Walling “to take the ongoing dialogue to a logical conclusion.”

The WC, NNPGs, recalled that when the Indo-Naga political talks started between GoI and WC in October 2017, Z Royim Yimchunger and CCM colleagues had endorsed V Nagi to represent the group; subsequently he was made one of the five Co-conveners of WC, representing the NNPGs in the ongoing political dialogue with the GOI.

“Almighty God touched and used each leader to respect, inspire and accept the other. This spirit of comradeship will guide all the leaders even in future,” acknowledged the press release.

However, “It is but a natural human tendency that when so many senior national leaders, each a committed nationalist, having his own ideology and political orientation, so also human follies and weaknesses, come together for a common political vision, personality and ego clashes do become inevitable.”

Due to these reasons, Convener and four other Co-conveners, on May 5 this year addressed President of NNC (Parent Body) Z Royim Yimchunger to “replace” the then Co-convener V Nagi with a “senior leader possessing maturity, patience and character capable of analysing both soft and harsh criticisms.” Thus, Toshi Walling was brought in.

The WC maintained that it is intact “with all six NNPGs adequately represented with Convener and five Co-conveners, along with other members.”
