DIMAPUR, SEPT 24 (MExN): With a vision to boost all-round personality growth of its entire students, the Salesian College Dimapur organized a one day youth-meet at its auditorium on September 24 under the theme “Educate all, liberate all” with KN Ngullie, Deputy Commissioner as the Chief Guest and K Elias as the Guest of Honour.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Guest maintained that students pursuing studies in Don Bosco School are ‘fortunate’ while adding that it is one of the premier co-established educational institutions in the state. The DC encouraged the students to make the best use of accessible amenities provided by the academic institution to gain more knowledge adding that there is no limit for precision and excellence. “We need well-qualified, well-disciplined and well-trained up student. We don’t need mere educated and ill-discipline student,” he stated. He also encouraged the students to fully dedicate their time to studies and attempt “for the first class” so as to become responsible citizens in the society.
The welcome addressed was given by Rector, Salesian College. Students with different talents and specialty performed varieties of items which made the programme impressive. The programme ended with prize distribution by the Chief Guest. In the Bible skit competition in English Infant Jesus hostel, Good Shepherd hostel and Dhobinala bagged the first, second and third prize respectively and Khatkhati, Lohorijan & Lower Langkhailu and Veterinary emerged as the first , second and third respectively in Hindi. In Gospal singing competition, in English, Diphupar Rongmei, Good Shepherd hostel and Dhobinala bagged the first, second and third prize respectively while Khathaki, Singrijan and Lohorijan bagged the first, second and third prize respectively in Hindi.
