Dimapur, March 20 (MExN): A three days webcasting programme of Krishi Mela Pusa, New Delhi was inaugurated on March 19 at the Conference Hall of the DRDA office, Mon.
Organised by ATMA Mon, the programme enabled a large gathering of farmers, scientist, policy makers and stakeholders to engage in discussion, participate in live demonstration of various crops, highlight success stories of farmers and interact between farmers and scientist for better income.
According to a press note received here, Subenthung Odyuo, Deputy Project Director, ATMA, Mon presenting the keynote address at the programme informed the farmers that Krishi Mela is organized by the Ministry of Agriculture to provide information on new farm schemes and technology for farmers.
The main objective of the program is to reach out to the farmers at the block level and equip them and agri-entrepreneur with right technology, access to markets, finance etc., he added. Odyuo further appealed to the farmers to avail the opportunity and disseminate the information to the farmers back at home.
Earlier, the programme begins with welcome address by the chairperson Nemchaba Jamir, Asstt. Tech. Manager, ATMA, Mon followed by self introduction by the farmer’s participants.
Short speeches were proposed by the participants of Krishi Vasant from February 4-18, 2014 - Wangyem Konyak of Chen Block, Yukjun Konyak of Phomching Block and Yanyak Konyak of Wakching Block.
The inaugural programme concluded with vote of thanks by Mhonchumo Khuvung, Asstt. Tech. Manager ATMA and followed by webcasting and interaction with the resource persons.
