Dimapur, May 28 (MExN): The Western Pochury Hoho (WPH), Nagaland has condemned the Contractor and Proprietor of M/S Rhino Construction who had allegedly “repeatedly intimidated, threatened and attempted manhandling of village leaders with dire consequences for voicing against fraudulent withdrawal of Rs 65 Crores for incomplete road projects of Lephori to Molhe (26km), Akhen to Star Lake (15km), T01/Akash Bridge to Kanjang (38 Km) in Phek District under Meluri Sub-Division.”
The hoho in a press release also condemned and questioned the then Executive Engineer of the District who issued completion certificate that how could he approved such certificate without any work being completed unless he works hand in gloves with the said contractor.
Further, it urged all the right thinking citizens to condemn “this kind of barbaric and uncivilized attitude of a contractor.” It said that WPH has seriously taken note of the “repeated threat” by the contractor to Pochury village leaders and citizens living in Kohima and “that his threat to any particular area is taken as a threat to whole community as such in the event of any harm to Pochury people he shall be held responsible.”
