Wokha, January 3 (MExN): Wicket keeper Ganesh Sarmah with 38 runs, 2 catches and a stumping helped GAPYOCC (Green) defeat Royal Strikers by 28 runs in the second semi-final league match of the ongoing 21st edition of the Winter Cricket Challenge played at Local Ground, Wokha. GAPYOCC (Green) electing to bat first managed 153 runs with the 10th wicket falling in the 20th over. Sarmah was assisted by Bivakar (32 runs) and Debojit (29). Sajid was the pick of the Royal Strikers’ bowlers taking a haul of 4 wickets while Roshan claimed 2 wickets. In the run chase, Royal Strikers were also bowled out in the 20th over for just 124 runs – 29 runs short of the target. Montu (28), Mhabemo (23) and Jubin (19) were the run getters for Royal Strikers. Dipankar led the bowling attack of GA (Green) with 3 wickets while Bivakar and Albert claimed 2 wickets each.
