DIMAPUR, JANUARY 30 (MExN): The second edition of the Wipro Earthian Trekking and Camping initiative, also known as Happy Trail 2, was successfully held at the Community Reserve Forest in Rangkang, Kangtsung Yimsen Tuli, Mokokchung district, from January 28 to 31. Building on the success of its first edition, this four-day, three-night outdoor program brought together 20 students from six government schools in Dimapur and Kohima, as well as one private school, for an immersive learning experience in nature.

Supported by the Wipro Foundation and organized by the Community Educational Centre Society (CECS), the program aimed to strengthen students’ connection with the natural world. Participants explored lush landscapes, rivers, and indigenous flora while engaging with local communities to learn about cultural traditions and ancestral knowledge.

The program was structured around three main themes: environmental awareness and conservation through expert-led sessions, connecting students with local traditions and ancestral knowledge, and creative activities inspired by indigenous practices. The activities encouraged hands-on learning and provided valuable exposure to nature’s wisdom.

One observer shared her experience of the event, praising the program for its well-planned activities and the positive impact it had on students. "This kind of exposure should be conducted more often, especially for government school students," she said, expressing gratitude to the CECS team and the facilitators for making the experience possible.

Kedolhukho Nakhro, a student from Government High School Jotsoma in Kohima, expressed his excitement, saying, "I made new friends, and the food tasted different in the jungle. I loved cooking in bamboo. The nature walks and camping activities were amazing. I would encourage my friends to join the next trek because it truly refreshed my mind and body."
