Wokha BDO office building inaugurated

Wokha, March 28 (MExN): Minister for Rural Development, Metsubo Jamir inaugurated the new Block Development Officer (BDO) office building at Project Colony, Wokha on March 28.

A DIPR report stated that addressing the inaugural function, Jamir urged the people and village functionaries to extend their cooperation and support to the Government and the department to bring about more developmental programmes for the benefit of the rural population. He urged everyone to respect the institution of Village Development Board since all development works and programs are implemented through it. The Minister also appealed to the village functionaries to focus more on economic activities like agriculture and other allied activities as Wokha district is blessed with rich resources. 

ADC Wokha, Lankonsen Tsanglao thanked the department for providing the BDO office with a new building which is a blessing for the people of Wokha, and called for judicious use of the new building. He also appealed to the village functionaries to work with utmost sincerity and dedication and proper implementation of schemes and policies to bring about change and development in their respective villages.

Director Rural Development, Liboni Humtsoe said it was a special moment for the department as the long-felt need to have a new BDO office building could finally be accomplished. While wishing BDO Wokha for having a new office building, the Director appealed to all the BDOs and staff to work with commitment and sincerity for better performance in all their assigned responsibilities.

The function was chaired by Project Director, DRDA Wokha, K Shekiho Phuleshe while the vote of thanks was proposed by BDO Wokha, Albert Patton.
