Wokha CMO’s office and PWD Colony sealed

Wokha, August 3 (MExN): Following the detection of one COVID-19 case from a staff in the office of the Wokha Chief Medical Officer, the CMO Office will be sealed for 72 hours with effect from August 4. This was informed in a notification from Wokha Deputy Commissioner and chairperson of the District Task Force for COVID-19, Orenthung Lotha. Fumigation of the premises is being initiated following all health and safety measures and standard operating procedures of the government, the notification stated. The DC informed that the sealed area have been mapped and cordoned off and advised everyone to follow safety precautions like wearing masks all the time, maintaining social distances and other hygiene and safety protocols within the proximity of the sealed area. Further, the DC also ordered the sealing of a residence at PWD Colony, Wokha, with immediate effect on Monday, to take effective measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19. “Any persons violating these containment measures will be liable to be prosecuted as per the provisions of Section 51 to 60 of the Disaster Management Act, 2005, besides legal action under Section 188 of the Indian Penal Code,” the DC’s order stated.
