
Wokha, August 18 (MExN): The students’ unions of Bailey Baptist College and Mount Tiyi College, Wokha district while expressing dismay over the state government have extended support to the All Nagaland College Students’ Union (ANCSU) over the ongoing agitation.
A statement issued by Chonchithung Y Emungrui, President, Bailey Baptist College Students’ Union (BBCSU) on behalf of the two student bodies stated that ANCSU raised concerns and actions regarding land encroachment at Kohima Science College, Jotsoma, scholarship cell and permanent settlement of scholarship and demarcation & building concrete walls in an around the demarcated land of all government colleges and polytechnics. The pending issue is a “deterrence factor for the upliftment and welfare of the students’ community,” it further stated.
The joint statement also urged “all stakeholders to support the concerns of the students’ community as it compromises the welfare of the students’ community as a whole.” It also expressed "unhappiness over the state government" and urged to resolve the issue at the earliest.
