Wokha dist supports ‘Generation Equality Stands Against Rape’

Wokha, November 25 (MExN): Commemorating the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, the Wokha district Administration in collaboration with DLCW-MSK and Sakhi-OSC, Wokha organized 16 days activism against gender-based violence.
DC Wokha Orenthung Lotha launched the kick off programme held on November 23 at Police Point under the theme “Orange the World: Generation Equality Stands Against Rape.”
A walkathon was organized starting from Police Point via Forest colony junction-District Hospital Road till Town Hall.
Imtitoshi, SP, Wokha, in his speech mentioned about the importance of girl child, gender differences, and inheritance problems and encouraged the community to come forward and make Wokha district zero/low in violence and rape case.
Imtinungla Longkumar, EAC (HQ), Wokha; Secretary WDLSA, Adv Khrievono Seletsu; Renthunglo Kikon, CA, OSC, Dr Wonchano E Enny, WWO, DLCW-MSK; and representatives from Lotha Hoho and Lotha Eloe Hoho also spoke during the function.
