
Wokha, May 7 (MExN): The Wokha District Task Force (DTF) for COVID-19 held a review meeting on May 7 at the Deputy Commissioner Conference Hall with ADC, Wokha Lankonsen Tsanglao chairing the meet.
As suggested by MLA Dr Chumben Murry, the DTF meeting decided to conduct random testing in areas which are critical. It also decided on setting up of testing centers at Bhandari and Sanis. Murry also requested the Wokha DTF to sensitize the Village functionaries and colonies chairman to take up preventive steps in the fight against the pandemic.
The ADC informed the members that War Room for COVID-19 in the district is fully functional, and urged the department concerned to give daily reports of their activities for uploading in the State portal.
He also informed that as a measure to ensure adequate caution and social distancing, the Wokha Town Council will very shortly come up with an order for opening and closure of shops on alternative days as preventive measure of surge of COVID-19 in the district.
Chief Medical Officer (CMO), Wokha, Dr C W Tungoe while briefing the members on COVID scenario in the district, informed that, so far 14903 persons have been vaccinated including frontline workers, health care workers and citizens above 45 and 60 years of age, out of the 20780 vaccine received.
The CMO added that so far, the district has recorded 1667 returnees, while 10434 have been screened, 47 are under home quarantine, and three persons are under COVID Care Centre. The district has 43 confirmed cases, while 37 have recovered and there are six active cases at present. The district’s death toll is 1 while 10 persons have migrated.
