Wokha, February 16 (MExN): The Wokha district administration and DLCW-MSK in collaboration with the Department of Health & Family Welfare and SAKHI- One Stop Centre (OSC), Wokha organised a one day awareness programme on Pre-Conception & Pre-Natal Diagnostic Techniques (PCPNDT) Act and free medical camp under Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) at Old Ralan, Panchayat Hall under SDO (C) Administrative headquarter on February 13.
According to a DIPR report, around 200 people participated in the programme. Baby kits were distributed to new born girl child. Sanitary pads and free medical checkup and medicines were also distributed to the participants.
SDO (C), Ralan who chaired the programme thanked the team for visiting the area and conducting such kind of programme. Advocate Thungbeni Kikon, Case Worker OSC enlightened the gathering about the activities of One Stop Centre- Sakhi and the various beneficial activities relating to the welfare of women and girl child.
Chief Medical Officer, Wokha, CW Tungoe briefed the participants about the Pre-Conception & Pre-Natal Diagnostic Techniques (PCPNDT) Act and the on-going COVID-19 Vaccination in the State. The CMO encouraged everyone to avail the COVID-19 vaccine and appealed to all to follow the guidelines and SOPs even after taking the vaccine.
