Kohima: Women Empowerment and Leadership Summit North East Region (WELSNER) will commence on Friday, April 25 and conclude April 26 at Bamboo Hall, Kisama. The chief guests will be the Governor of Nagaland, Dr. Ashwani Kumar and his wife. Pukhayi Sumi, Parliamentary Secretary for Department of Women Development, Cooperation & Sericulture, Government of Nagaland would be the guest of honor.
Some of the prominent speakers lined up for this summit are, Rosemary Dzuvichu, Advisor, Naga Mother’s Association; Dr. Monisha Behal, Executive Director, North East Network; Jarjum Ete, Secretary, National Alliance of Women; Neidonuo Angami (Padmashree), Social Activist & Former President, Naga Mother’s Association (NMA); Daisy Mezhur, Secretary, Nagaland State Social Welfare Board (NSSWB) & Mission Director, State Resource Center for Women; Sentila T Yanger (Padmashree), State Convener, INTACH (Nagaland Chapter); Bano Haralu, Editor-in-Chief, Eastern Mirror, Nagaland; Tanushree Hazarika, Managing Director, Eclectic Group, Assam.
“The summit is first of its kind in the North East Region and is projected to make an impact on every participant at the event,” a press release quoted Ricky Ozukum, MD, Alaphra Group. He further stated that the number of expected participants for the summit is 150 from all over the North Eastern states.
The summit is officially endorsed by the Nagaland State Commission for Women with State Resource Centre for Women as Associating Partner. The Department of Women Development, Government of Nagaland is the Supporting Partner with APAC CXO Forum as Knowledge Partner.

The release informed all the confirmed delegates of the event that the registration and the welcome breakfast will start at 8:30AM at the venue. Thereafter, the Summit will be officially inaugurated.
