The Women Entrepreneurs Network of Nagaland (WENN) is gearing up to host the 4th WENN Bazaar from October 2 to 4, 2025, at the CT Square, Chümoukedima. Under the theme "Year of Business Governance," the event promises to be a platform for empowering women entrepreneurs across the state.
WENN, launched in April 2022 in partnership with GIZ's Her&Now project, aims to strengthen the business acumen of women through networking, collaboration, capacity building, and ecosystem advocacy.
According to the WENN, the annual event blends commerce with capacity building, offering a marketing platform for entrepreneurs to showcase their products and participate in workshops, networking sessions, and skill development programmes.
"WENN Bazaar is the only time where we bring all the women entrepreneurs from across Nagaland," a WENN representative told a press conference, in Dimapur on September 20, where they announced the upcoming event.
This year's bazaar is expected to be larger than previous years, with an anticipated 110 entrepreneurs participating and attracting over 10,000 visitors. Building upon the success of previous years, the 2025 event aims to achieve Rs 50 lakh in sales.
A key highlight of the event will be the opportunity for entrepreneurs to access on-the-spot registration for FSSAI & Udyam, supported by the Department of Industries & Commerce under the RAMP programme.
Furthermore, attendees can participate in skill-building workshops covering a wide range of topics including Shiitake mushroom cultivation, calligraphy & bouquet making, traditional loin loom weaving, banana fibre paper crafting, solar-powered livelihood innovations, and business compliance & documentation. "It is very important to have proper documentation," the representative emphasised. Interactive zones will also be available, offering networking opportunities, peer learning sessions, and family-friendly activities.
The objectives of the WENN Bazaar 2025 are multi-faceted, focusing on boosting economic empowerment through expanded market access, enhancing business literacy through targeted workshops, encouraging innovation through exposure to branding and digital tools, strengthening networks through mentorship and collaboration, and celebrating local culture by showcasing indigenous crafts and wellness products.
The expected outcomes include increased visibility for women-led brands, cultural promotion through traditional crafts and cuisine, and a ripple effect of empowerment in local communities. WENN also hopes the event will gain institutional recognition as a potential annual state-endorsed event.
"There are products and women entrepreneurs, but often there is a lack of platforms for marketing," the representative stated, underlining the importance of the WENN Bazaar in providing a platform for showcasing talent. The organisation has been actively working to reach women entrepreneurs across Nagaland, having covered 15 districts to understand their challenges and offer training workshops.
WENN aims to provide support to women entrepreneurs from the interior of the state in the future, “In the days to come, if we receive stable funds, we would definitely want to support those coming from the interior of the state.”
