Dimapur, December 5 (MExN): A committee for “wider consultations” over the women reservation bill has been put in place by the speaker of Nagaland Legislative Assembly. Apparently pointing to possible differences between the parties over the issue or implementing women reservation, the “All Political Parties Consultative Committee” was informed to have been instated for “wider consultation” with “various sections of the Naga society” and to “examine” its “applicability” in Nagaland. A note from the Assembly listed eleven legislators comprising the committee, headed by deputy Speaker Ralanthung Yanthan as convener. The convener of the committee has convened a “preliminary” meeting of the newly-instated committee on December 12, from 11 AM in the committee room of the Assembly Secretariat.
