Workshop on ‘Bharatiya Culture and Heritage’

Dimapur, August 13 (MExN): Janajati Shiksha Samiti (JSS) in collaboration with Ministry of Culture, Government of India is organising two-day educational workshop on awareness, preservation and development of “Bharatiya Culture and Heritage” on August 13 and 14 at Pranab Vidyapith Higher Secondary School (PVHSS) jubilee auditorium, Dimapur.

Lipokmar Tzudir, Director, North East Zone Cultural Centre, Dimapur graced the inauguration ceremony of the workshop. In his speech, he encouraged the students to practise small things like obedience to parents, compassion for the distressed in their day to day lives, adding they will lead them to greater success in life, informed a press release received here. Lipokmar also mentioned about the composite culture of the country.  

Uma Bhowmick, Principal, Pranabananda Women’s College, Dimapur, who was the special guest on the occasion, also stressed on the idea of “Unity in Diversity” in Indian culture. Pankaj Sinha, Organising Secretary, Janajati Shiksha Samiti, Nagaland discussed elaborately the various traits of Indian culture and tradition.  

In his vote of thanks, Monoj Bhattacharjee, working President, JSS and Principal, PVHSS, Dimapur highlighted the unique culture of Nagaland as well as India.  After the inaugural ceremony, workshop on various subjects was held, where around 500 students participated.
