Workshop to develop resource document for improvement of Math

Kohima, April 29 (MExN): A four-day workshop on development of Resource Document for Class 6 to 8 for Mathematics improvement in the State was held at SIEMAT hall, SCERT, Kohima on April 24–27. Altogether, 32 Mathematics teachers attended the workshop.  

Chief Guest T Sekhose, Director, SCERT maintained that the schools in Nagaland are fortunate enough to have good infrastructure, teachers and other resources. “But, when we look at the outcome we lack quality.”  

According to a press release, he stressed that the National Achievement Survey and School report card show that students in the State are not doing well in Mathematics. However, with the Mathematics Learning Enhancement Program Nagaland (MLEPN) initiated by SCERT, he expressed that Nagaland Mathematics education will improve.  

He further encouraged the Mathematics teachers to put all their efforts, experience, ideas, and innovations into the programme.  

The Head of Mathematics Cell, SCERT, Thungchibemo Lotha, Reader, SCERT delivered the keynote address.
