Dimapur, August 26 (MExN): The three-day workshop for Government School teachers at Conference Hall, AIDA, Don Bosco Campus,  Dimapur began on August 26, and will culminate on August 28.The workshop was organized by CAN Youth under its Project “SPATIAL,” in collaboration with Azim Premji Foundation, District Education Office Dimapur and AIDA. 


A press release issued by Grace Chishi Coordinator, Project SPATIAL, CAN Youth stated that Jenpu Rongmei, Chief Functionary of CAN Youth gave the welcome address. Jenpu encouraged the teachers to take the opportunity of the 3 -day workshop and implement it in their schools, “as education is one of the most important things than can bring a sustainable growth in our society.”


A brief introduction of Azim Premji Foundation was delivered by Bijoy Sankar Das, Leader of North Eastern State and Jammu & Kashmir, Azim Premji University. Sunny, Director AIDA stressed on good education that should be provided to the students for more innovations, enthusiasm, and to put more efforts and work with dedication. He also stated that the role of the teacher is to mould students into a well knit group by showing the way and influence by guiding them in their thinking, and to take full responsibilities to lead and guide the students to the their way of success in their life. Lastly he encouraged the participant to be more effective as he/ she represents the adult society and their task to propagate and promote the social norms and ideals all the time.


Asangla, Assistant District Educational officer (ADEO) shared on importance of life skills on how teachers can use life skills to teach the students with extracurricular activities. She also encouraged the teachers to take up topics such as problem solving, critical thinking, decision making. She mentioned that life skills must be  implemented in every school to make the students more confident and develop good skills. She acknowledged the CAN YOUTH for working in the education sector from the  grassroots level, and helping to build the concept of education in practical by  involving various stake holders.  

 
The workshop is conducting activities and fun-based learning, emphasizing on the Topics of Class Management, Understanding the behavioral attitude of students and Teaching subjects through life skill base activity, stated the release. 


The Workshop was  facilated  by Bijoy Sankar Das, Leader, North East & Jammu & Kashmir Azim Premji University; Vikash Chandra Roy, Resource Person, Azim Premji University; Rajkishore Patnaik, Resource Person, Azim Premji Foundation and  was assisted by CAN YOUTH Project SPATIAL Team ,Grace Chishi, Sentimongla and Ghupito T  Zhimo.


“Altogether 20 Teachers from 10 Government schools under Dimapur District are attending the workshop,” the release added.
