
Mokokchung, September 22 (MExN): A one-day workshop on soft skills was held at Mokokchung College of Teacher Education (MCTE) in collaboration with Emporium Skill Training Institute, Nagaland, on September 20. The workshop aimed to enhance leadership and professionalism through soft skills development.
Dr. T. Alemla Longkumer, Principal of MCTE, opened the event with an address highlighting the significance of soft skills in professional and personal interactions. She emphasized that equipping educators with these skills enables them to positively impact their students and colleagues. Dr. Longkumer also expressed her appreciation to the Emporium team, including Temjenkala Aier, CEO of Emporium Nagaland; Ayani Kikon, Soft Skills Trainer; and Allin Awomi, Operations Manager and Aviation Trainer.
The first session, led by Ayani Kikon, focused on strategies for building high-performing teams. Through an interactive session titled "Creating a Dream Team for a Sport," she emphasized collaboration and teamwork. She also discussed professionalism and workplace conduct, highlighting the importance of clear agendas, interpersonal etiquette, and constructive feedback.
Temjenkala Aier shared her leadership journey, stressing the role of emotional intelligence and social skills in effective leadership. She urged the participants to practice humility, inclusivity, and lifelong learning.
Allin Awomi conducted a session on professional grooming, covering aspects such as body language, politeness, and personal hygiene. Participants engaged in hands-on exercises to understand expert grooming techniques.
