Dimapur, September 16 (MExN): World Bamboo Day celebration (North East India) will be held on September 18 and 19 at the Nagaland Bamboo Resource Centre, Dimapur under the theme ‘A Natural Celebration’. The World Bamboo Day will be commemorated to create awareness on the significance of bamboo as an important natural resource for the socio-economic development of the region.
The Chief Minister of Nagaland, TR Zeliang will be the chief guest and Naveen Verma, Secretary, Ministry of DoNER will be the guest of honour.
The celebration will include a technical summit on bamboo with the Ministry of DoNER, inaugural session, exhibition and sale of bamboo crafts from all the North Eastern States, visit to various units at Nagaland Bamboo Resource Centre and bamboo plantation ceremony.
The Nagaland Bamboo Development Agency has invited everyone to join the celebrations from 9:00 am onwards.
