Tuensang, July 30 (MExN): The Mahila Shakti Kendra (MSK) in collaboration with District Administration and Sakhi-One Stop Centre under the aegis of Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) observed World Day against Trafficking in Person at Loyem Memorial College, Tuensang on July 30.    

Herola, Case Worker Sakhi-One Stop Centre Tuensang, who was the main speaker for the event highlighted brief objectives For the observation of World Day against Trafficking in person around the world. She also gave a details explanation on Human Rights to protect oneself and all the citizen. The speaker also Urge the gathering to note the Universal Women Helpline Number 181 and Child line Number 1089 for emergency grievances. 

The programme was chaired by Songmao M, Women Welfare Officer (MSK) and gave a brief introductory and objectives on BBBP. Various schools and colleges in Tuensang town participated in the programme and it concluded with a short discussion.

Peren: Peren district administration in collaboration with Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) MSK-District Level Centre for Women (DLCW) and Sakhi-One Stop Centre observed World Day against Trafficking in Persons on the theme, ‘victims’ voices lead the way’ at Town Hall, Peren on July 30.

A DIPR report stated that the theme speaker, ASI, Women Police Station, Jalukie, Tingkhovei Kuki said, “There is a need for recognition, acceptance, respect and understanding of the victims to overcome human trafficking.” She added that human trafficking has entered through forced labour, domestic help, sex-trafficking and organs trafficking where the victims did not have any choice but were forced. Tingkhovei also said that the rescued victims require care, love and friendly approach to go back to normal life.

Nodal Officer of BBBP & EAC, Peren HQ, Kevethito Rose, NCS, delivered the welcome address cum key concept of the programme. District Child Protection Unit, Advocate Asungbe Hau shared on the topic ‘Trafficking in Peren District.’ Counsellor of Sakhi- One Stop Centre, Grace presided over the programme. Words of gratitude were proposed by District Coordinator, MSK, Kiziupeululie.
