Dimapur, July 30 (MExN): The Western Sumi Kukami Hoho (WSKH) has notified all the Pisciculture/Fishery farms belonging to individual local farmers under its jurisdiction that the state fishery department has been issuing fingerlings to interested farmers for which on behalf of all the Pisciculture farmers.
While appreciating the initiative of the department, the Western Sumi Kukami Hoho stated that now, after the ban on import of fish from other states, the local fish farmers are getting good market avenue with sound returns. “Hence it appeal to concerned authority to let the impose ban on import of fish continue, so that our people will be benefited even in days ahead,” it added.
The WSKH in a press release issued by its President S. Vihuto Yeptho also extended its gratitude to Himato Zhimomi the Commissioner and Secretary for his impartial initiative to detect the formalin cultured fishes and other fruits/vegetables items hazardous to human health.
Further, the WSKH requests the fishery department to continue with their contribution to further the interests of the fish farmers of the state for long term benefit and the public in general.
