Dimapur, January 5 (MExN): The 71st annual conference of Xuivi Students' Union was held from December 27-29 last. Israel G Xuivi Zhimo, Deputy Commandant, 9th IRB, graced the occasion as chief guest on December 28.
Speaking on the occasion, chief guest said fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom and thus one should humble themselves before God and live a disciplined life. He also said young people should also respect our elders if they want to be respected and regarded in the same manner by future generations.
Stressing on the need to uphold and preserve one's own cultural heritage, he said our culture and tradition is our identity and therefore it is important that younger generations must preserve the culture and tradition and showcase the same to the world.
It was stated in a press release that various cultural and literary competitions were the other highlights of the conference.
