Zunheboto, February 6 (MExN): Nagaland Advisor for Tourism, Art and Culture H Khehovi Yeputhomi joined the celebrations as Yehemi village celebrated 100 years of Christianity on Sunday.
Speaking at the programme, the Advisor congratulated the people of Yehemi village on the centenary celebration and noted that the village has produced many prominent leaders in politics, the state bureaucracy as well as leaders in the Naga political movement, according to a press release.
Noting that Yehemi is the parent village of 13 other villages, the Advisor urged the people of Yehemi to continue counting their many blessings and give thanks to God. He encouraged the villagers to exhibit their maturity as village that embraced Christianity 100 years ago by living exemplary lives.
The Advisor said it was his constant appeal to his constituency people living in towns, to construct houses in their respective villages. In this connection he lauded the Yehemi people who, despite dwelling in towns, have constructed their own respective houses in the village, thereby bringing development to the village. He encouraged other villages to follow suit.
