Dimapur, Jan 7 (MExN): Yimchungrü was composed of six-dialect speaking groups i.e., and Tikhirü (of the Tikhirs) among them with a common ancestor, culture and tradition. However, due to certain forces, “which was common in all the present Naga tribes”, had to migrate from their ancestral land to far-off land thus losing their roots, says Yimchungrü Akherü Arihako (YAA).
“It was an undeniable fact that during the olden days even the members of the single family were not safe even within the family; so also, the khels, villages etc. Likewise, the present families of Yimchungrü were composed of six dialect speaking groups, viz, Langarü, Chirrü, Longpherü, Tikhirü, Makorirü, and Phunungrü of Yimchungrü tribe. Each of these groups had the common ancestor, culture, tradition, etc” explained the YAA through its President Throngso and General Secretary Yapmule in a note. However, owing to certain exigencies, the tribe’s family members migrated from their ancestral land and ‘lost their ways’, the YAA explained. Nonetheless, “the strong bond of family relations compelled them to search one another so that they may live once again as one family”. Thereafter, these six dialect-speaking groups unanimously resolved to live under one roof so that they unitedly formed a tribe known as ‘Yim-khiung-rü’, meaning ‘searched/traced and found/ met’.
Till the 1980s, Tikhirs shared a commonality with Langarü, Cherrü, Longpherü, Mokorirü, and Phunongrü of the tribe and only during the later part of 1980s “some masterminded and selfish individuals brain-washed our brothers by willfully and falsely propagating that Tikhirs are quite different in every respects” to that of the Yimchungrü brethren.
The YAA also stated that officials like Phek EAC, SDO Electrical of Kiphire DSP of 3rd NAP Tuensang, were made ‘possible by holding Yimchungru certificates’. It accused them of sponsoring the “terrorist networking outfits such as ‘Limitsung’ by transporting great number of alcohols, sophisticated arms and ammunitions so that we see the present consequences of high tensions, attacks, threats, extortions and killings in and around Yimchungru jurisdictions. President of TTC and senior advisor of TTC also found mention as the “main engineers in setting up various defensive options like bunkers, trenches, etc at Shamator village leading to the continuous attacks”. They deserve stern action from the Government for their involvement, the YAA alleged.
The YAA also appreciated the DAN Government, high-ranking state officers, district administrators, security forces and right-thinking citizens for co-operating in the present situation so as to find a peaceful-permanent and lasting solution.
