Tuensang, March 14 (MExN): A Health and Wellness Centre at Yimpang was inaugurated by Tuensang Chief Medical Officer Dr I Moatemjen Jamir on March 11. This was followed by health camps at Yimpang village, Waoshu village and Taknyu village, a press release informed on Sunday.

The health camp was organized in collaboration with the District Administration Tuensang under the banner ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’ with primary focus on women’s health and wellbeing. Three medical teams from the CMO Office Tuensang comprising of medical officers, nurses, lab-tech, pharmacist and staff from various vertical programs such as NTEP, DAPCU, IDSP, RCH, DVBDCP, RBSK and MMU were deputed for the health camps. The teams also conducted awareness campaigns on various programs and activities of the Health Department under the establishment of CMO Tuensang, the release stated.

The Sakhi One Stop Centre and Mahila Shakti Kendra Tuensang also joined in the venture to create awareness on women’s welfare schemes and helped the womenfolk open bank accounts and Aadhaar  card enrolment in order to enable them to avail schemes such as maternity benefits and other welfare schemes, the release stated.
