YM Yollow inaugurates Anghban Morung of Wakching village

Mon, April 2 (DIPR): Parliamentary Secretary for CAWD, YM Yollow inaugurated the Anghban Morung of Wakching village on April 2.

  In his inaugural speech, Yollow spoke on the developmental activities of the village and advancement of Christianity that paved the way for modernity in Wakching. Despite various developmental initiated in the past he lamented that certain areas are still lagging behind which needs immediate attention to progress.  

Informing that the Anghban Morung was constructed way back in the year 1960 he said the morung was renovated and constructed after a gap of 56 years with initiative and contribution by individuals and well wishers.  

Appealing to the gathering to preserved the rich culture and traditions of the people he said with the advancement of modernity the age old culture of the people are degrading slowly because the younger generation is not preserving the rich culture. He urged the youths to preserve the cultural and traditions of the people and at the same time to march ahead and compete with the advancement of world.  

Short speeches were proposed by Longmei Chief Angh, Chingak SDO Civil Wakching, L. Nyeiang Nokha Angh, Y. Ngangpong GB and Yiwang Ban Shimpa. The highlights of the day were traditional dances by various cultural troupes.
