Kohima, September 16 (MExN): The Young Indians (Yi), Sazolie College Chaupal in collaboration with Young Indians, Nagaland Chapter organised a motivational talk on September 15 at Sazolie College under the theme, ‘A New Perspective.’
A press release stated here that the resource persons were Vijay Sharma, Proprietor, Rainbow Paints; Abraham Rohan, Founder and Chief Traveller, Indian Trails; and Sievituo Solo, Cyclist and Eco-Activist, Project 72 Hours.
Sievituo Solo shared about his experiences and adventures travelling to different countries in his bamboo bicycle and the things that he had learnt from those trips. He encouraged the students to follow their heart and do the things that they are good at, instead of simply following and doing what others are doing. He urged them to be bold and shed their inhibitions, and not be too concerned about making mistakes because it is through mistakes that one can learn and develop oneself.
Vijay Sharma shared about the importance of possessing clarity of thought and vision in choosing what one wants to do in life. Students should learn the importance of multitasking and prioritising their works in order to excel he said. He added that students should inculcate positive thinking and be surrounded by people who have positive attitude. He also spoke about the importance of giving back to the society and expressed satisfaction in the fact that he is able to give employment to a good number of Naga youths in his business establishment.
Abraham Rohan encouraged the students to challenge themselves and break out of their little chains or comfort zones. He urged them to experiment and venture into different professions because by doing so, they will learn and figure out what they should do and what they should not do. “Failures will teach you,” he added. He reminded the students that Nagaland has a lot of potential for new business ventures and that they should take cognizance of it. He also said that students should read more and be informed about what is happening in the world instead of confining themselves to their own locality or state, so that they can acquire a broader perspective and equip themselves better.
Around 100 Young Indian members from Sazolie College and St. Joseph’s College, Jakhama, attended the programme.
