Yung Aung-led NSCN (K) clarifies on ‘current political condition’

Dimapur, August 3 (MExN): The Yung Aung-led NSCN (K) on Monday issued a statement clarifying on the “current political condition within NSCN/GPRN.”

It recounted the expulsion of three senior party members viz, Starson, Kilonser, Lt Gen Niki Sumi, Dy C-in-C and Lt Gen Nyemlang, GSO-I, for violation of party discipline, on July 29 and claimed that since the passing of its former Chairman Late SS Khaplang, the trio had “isolated themselves from all Party activities while still continuing to collect tax in terms of crores of rupees for themselves,” while neglecting their “national duties.”

“Their ways of thinking and carefree lifestyles totally contradicts the Party's new transformation policy,” it said, while adding that their expulsion was necessitated “to prevent the party from further destruction.”

The release further claimed that the “false statements and allegations against NSCN/GPRN are self-explanatory in nature and it only expose their true mentality towards their fellow Nagas and the Naga issue.”

The Yung Aung led NSCN (K) meanwhile put across that “it is high time for all Nagas and revolutionaries alike to introspect deeply and be vigilant of anti national elements,” as Nagas have wasted precious time in party politics and rivalries which keep us apart from our national objective.

It reiterated its stand on its will to resolve “past differences and reconcile under his holy banner ‘Nagaland for Christ’ and based upon the Naga sovereignty,” while pledging to “recommit to uphold the spirit of oneness and brotherhood among Nagas.”

“These past ordeal have strengthened our faith and our determination, and we will continue to stand our ground to the last,” it said, while expressing gratitude to every Naga tribal council, apex bodies, churches, students, civil societies and individuals for their constant moral, physical and spiritual support.
