Peren, September 18 (MExN): Zeliangrong Baudi Nagaland (ZBN) today expressed dismay over the “slow pace of investigation” in the August 21 incident at the residence of Kelei Zeliang, IAS, Secretary to Chief Minister & Rural Development in Kohima. Some unidentified persons with arms barged into the bureaucrat’s private residence that day to “harm and cause possible murder with strange motive,” stated a press statement issued by Media Cell, ZBN.
Different organizations from far and near had condemned the episode through local media; however, it lamented, no arrest has been made so far. “Baudi is made to understand that the failure on the part of law enforcing agency to book the culprit thus far has elucidated its ‘inefficient’ and ‘half hearted’ attempt,” it added.
“What will be the fate of common man if an IAS officer in the rank of Secretary to the Government is not safe at his own residence and the case not being taken seriously?” ZBN questioned, while expressing pain at the “apathetic accomplishment of the department to nab the culprit(s) so far.”
Meanwhile, the Baudi cautioned it may be compelled to initiate its own action as per the customary law. Further, it appealed to every peace loving denizen of Nagaland to put pressure on the law enforcing agency to deliver justice at the earliest.
