DIMAPUR, SEPTember 4 (MExN): The Zeliangrong Baudi today expressed its dismay and shock over the indifferent attitude of the government and the NSCN (IM) towards the people’s right and for “giving way for the Sumi community to exercise law and order in their own hands. An executive meeting of the Baudi was held at Dimapur on September 4 wherein the meeting also expressed disappointment on “the un-anticipated apprehension of the GPRN-NSCN (IM) deploying IRB security to stop the rally”. “It is our rightful steps to assert our people’s rights wherever our right is deprived or ignored”, the Baudi stated on the rally held on Monday.
The rally was organised solely to demonstrate our people’s right to life, property and protection and not to confront any section of community or people, the Baudi clarified adding that it never expected that a people’s government to have such a bias attitude. “The Zeliangrong people have lost the trust and confidence on the GPRN-NSCN (IM) government and withdrew its plan of submitting their representation”, it stated. The Baudi stated that it “cannot continue to be with the government that cannot deliver justice to its citizens and have no discernment of human rights”. “We feel sorry for the state government sending IRB to control the unarmed citizens who came for silent and peace rally rather than controlling the section of people who were creating problems and disturbing the peace on the way blocking their way to their own land via Dimapur”. The Baudi stated that the IRB action was one sided and bias. “We therefore appeal to all right thinking Naga citizens to speak out justice that the GPRN-NSCN may learn to deliver justice amidst injustice and violence”.
The Baudi meanwhile expressed profound gratitude and appreciation to all the Zeliangrong public from all nook and corner of Nagaland for their unflinching support and physical presence at the rally organized by Zeliangrong Baudi Nagaland, AZSU (AMN) ZSU (N) ZMO on September 3 in Jalukie. It also conveyed its gratitude and appreciated the Zeliangrong Mipui Organisation, Chakhesang Youth organisation, Human Rights activists group, National students Union of India, Naga Mothers Association, Naga Mother Hoho Dimapur and many goodwill participants in support of what it termed as “the People’s Peace rally”.
