Zeliangrong Baudi refutes report on Tening meeting

Dimapur, Nov 25 (MExN): The Zeliangrong Baudi (Hoho) has issued a clarification that contrary to news reports that only 12 delegates attended the Hoho’s November 15 meeting in Tening as highlighted in the local media, 60 villages had actually attended from across the spectrum of Zeliangrong community.

Terming as ‘tarnishing’ the report of the Department of Information & Public Relations (DIPR) that only abut 12 delegates attended the meeting, General Secretary of the Hoho Luikiegong clarified that about 60 villages represented by village council chairmen, Head GBs from each village as called besides town council chairmen, intellectuals and public leaders of Zeliangrong people in Nagaland.

The general meeting discussed several important issues/matters relating to the Zeliangrong people and also adopted some resolution, the Hoho stated. The meeting also approved the draft constitution which had come into force with effect from November 15, 2006. The Hoho has requested all editors of the print media not to publish “such false press release” without ascertaining the truth or otherwise of the facts.
