DIMAPUR, MARCH 24 (MExN): Parliamentary Secretary for Urban Development, Zhaleo Rio and Parliamentary Secretary for IT&C, TE, Science & Technology and Taxes, Tovihoto Ayemi, have pledged that both of them would coordinate and join hands for overall development of Dimapur district.
Speaking at the felicitation programme organized by NPF Dimapur division in honour of the two victorious NPF candidates in the recently concluded assembly election here at Hotel Saramati, Sunday afternoon, both Zhaleo and Tovihoto also assured that they would not backtrack on their election campaign commitments.
Expressing gratitude to the NPF party for awarding party ticket to him, Zhaleo in his speech attributed his victory to his Ghaspani –II A/C people for reposing their faith in him and choosing him as their representative. Outlining his political vision, Zhaleo said that his priority would be infrastructure and human resource development. He also said that one of the biggest challenges that Dimapur faces is “security to life and property.” He urged every concerned citizen to join cooperate with the elected representatives, district administration and police to eradicate social menaces such as extortion, kidnapping and intimidation.
Tovihoto said that both he and Zhaleo would coordinate and work together for overall development of Dimapur district and assured that they would not neglect the three constituencies (Dimapur –II, Dimapur –III and Ghaspani –I) where the NPF party failed to elect representatives.
Calling for collective efforts to usher faster development in the commercial hub, Tovihoto said that it was time to get into action and not only sound high rhetoric.
Vice president, NPF Dimapur division, Vihoshe Awomi also spoke on the occasion. President, NPF Dimapur division, Shilu Sangtam chaired the programme, vice president Er. Rhonthungo Ovung delivered welcome address and general secretary Obed Yimchunger proposed vote of thanks.
