DIMAPUR, MAY 22 (MExN): Pooja Film Production released a full-length digital film on Sunday, May 22. The movie: ‘Zokhom Pa Maiki-2’ was produced and directed by Ajay Kumar and stars Pito Yepthomi, W. Naro and Bokato Choppy. Kumar also has a considerable presence in the film playing the role of a villain.
He is a veteran in the Nagamese film circuit of Dimapur, and has been in the business for the past 20 years now. He has made 18 films so far, not only in Nagamese but also in Sangtam, Yimchunger and Poumai vernaculars.
The latest movie under the banner of Pooja Film Production was premiered today at Eros Cinema hall. General secretary (finance) of the NPF, Dimapur division – Basu Damani attended the premiere as the chief guest.
The quality and public response to his films may not be of the Bollywood kind, nevertheless, Kumar takes it in his stride and is passionate about making movies. He said that a new film dubbed in Sumi dialect is under production. Another, in Assamese is almost complete, he added. The yet to be released production – ‘Morom Janiba’ will be out by the end of the year. The inspiration behind making an Assamese film here is to foster cultural exchange between the two neighbouring states, he said. “Through this film I want to promote peace, progress and development” between the people of Assam and Nagaland.
