
New Delhi, August 24 (MExN): The Zeliangrong Students' Union Delhi (ZSUD) organized a “One day Interaction Program on Career Choice” at Constitution Club of India, Speaker Hall, New Delhi on August 20.
According to a press release, the programme was attended by the Zeliangrong students in Delhi and National Capital Region. With the aim to produce successful candidates in civil service examinations from Zeliangrong community in the coming years, six panellists from different fields advised and interacted with the participating students.
T. Pamei, IAS, noted the excess of cultural influences like group-ism, clan-ism, priority to one’s own village etc. and opined that these are indirectly preventing us from achieving goals and successful life. He offered to assist the students financially if they require study centres for their preparation.
Dr. Kamei Aphun, Senior Assistant Professor, Delhi School of Economics, Delhi University, on the other hand made a strong argument on the importance of education and its role in liberating an individual and society at large.
G.G. Kamei, IRS, enlightened the gathering on several career options available and reminded them to "start young and start early". She also spoke on several practical steps in choosing one's career.
Dr. Meijinlung Dhangmei, Attending Consultant at Fortis Escorts, New Delhi, spoke on the career options available in the medical field and added several essential guidelines for effective and productive studies for getting through any competitive exams.
G. Machunlung Kamei, IRS, talked on practical approach on three most important factors for one's success. One has to work hard, motivate oneself and assess one's work to be successful, Kamei advised.
Timothy Tajonang Gonmei, IRPS, pointed to “Five Minds” that is needed to become successful. According to him, the five minds include: Disciplinary Mind, Synthesising Mind, Creative Mind, Respectful Mind, and Ethical Mind. He advised the gathering to pursue studies seriously and to be an expert in one area if one desires to become a successful person.
