Zunheboto DPDB discusses poor performance of GHSS

Out of 216 appeared, only 6 pass from GHSS Zunheboto in HSLC exam

Zunheboto, May 10 (DIPR): The monthly Zunheboto District Planning & Development Board (DPDB) meeting was held on May 10 at DC conference hall under the chairmanship of DC and Vice Chairman DPDB Zunheboto, T. Roy.  

At the meeting, Vice President, Sumi Hoho, Khehoshe Yepthomi deliberated on the poor performance of Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS), Zunheboto in the recent declared result where only 6 students passed out of 216 appeared in HSLC exam and suggests reconstitution of Management Committee of GHSS, Zunheboto.  

Principal, GHSS, Sunil Thakur appraised the members, the problems leading to the bad result and cited lack of teachers and infrastructure for the poor academic record.   SDO (C), Shanavas, IAS urged sincerity on the part of teachers and encouraged for a parents-teachers association for proper administration and prospects of students’ career.  

The board after thorough deliberations reconstituted the management committee of GHSS with DC Zunheboto as Chairman, Principal GHSS as member secretary and representatives from Sumi Hoho, Sumi Totimi Hoho, Sumi Kukami Hoho, Sumi Kiphimi Kuqhakulu, Senior Teacher, parents and DEO as members.  

Roy also asked the District Education Officer to direct Field Officers to inspect all the schools and report on the functioning in the next meeting. The DC in his concluding remark reminded all the members that attendance is a must for DPDB Meeting and strict action will be taken against the erring officials.
