Zunheboto people’s action reflects impatience with killings – Sumi Hoho

Dimapur, Nov 6 (MExN): The Sumi Hoho has lauded as valorous and “dignified act” the mass action of the Zunheboto public in defusing the ‘fierce battle’ and ejecting the two NSCN factions from the town recently. The Sumi Hoho terming it as exemplary, asserted that the action reflected a victimized people’s impatience with fratricidal killings and that no form of violence would bring a solution to the Naga political issue.         

“The victimized people had taken such exemplary step not merely to resume their normal lives but had loudly expressed that violence will bring no solution to our protracted Naga political rights and that Nagas are fed up of such fratricidal killings within” the Hoho reminded in a statement issued through its President, HS Rotokha and General Secretary Aheto V Yepthomi. 

The Hoho also expressed gratitude to all who were involved in the mass action, especially the Sumi Totimi Hoho (women Hoho), public leaders, GBs, town councilors, CCF, Zunheboto Deputy Commissioner and Superintendent of Police for their effort. It also thanked Home Minister Thenucho and his entourage for “paying a visit to the dilapidated Amiphoto colony and its surroundings immediately aftermath” and to Sumi legislators. The Hoho also expressed happiness to both the NSCN factions for “respecting the plea of the public, for leaving the place of conflict”. “They are expected to uphold their assurances made to the public not to repeat the same in future in populated area” the Hoho reminded while appealing to the state government to provide relief measures as well as to the points of grievances placed during the Home Minister’s visit.
