
Dimapur, November 19 (MExN): In a positive development in the field of literary enrichment, the first ever English magazine from Zunheboto district, entitled ‘Zunheboto Times’, was officially launched by MLA Hukavi on November 15.
“This Magazine is brought out in English, it emphasizes on the (Sumi youths) to express their point of view at the present scenario; it also carries information about the present globalizations and opportunities a youth can pursue,” said Kanato Sumi, editor in chief of the magazine in a press statement today.
MLA Hukavi, during the launching programme, gave a strong message on the importance of the magazine’s role, and opined that it can positively change the society and bring to the people a better outlook in life, said the magazine.
Giving the aims and objectives of the magazine, the Kanato declared that the magazine can fill the gap of misunderstanding and negative ideas between two societies ‘can move the mood of the people.’
“The magazine emphasizes on the public to know that, without the roots of their existence it would lead to the loss of their identities,” the magazine stated.
Inviting contributions of articles to the magazine, Kanato Sumi said that the articles will be published free of cost and added that surprise gifts will be given to those whose articles are published in the magazine.
Meanwhile, Zunheboto Times has expressed heartfelt gratitude to all Sumi elders, officers, principals of various schools, students and well wishers. The magazine pledges that with the support of the people, it would always strive to bring changes for the betterment of the society.
