Kohima, August 18 (MExN): The All Nagaland Pre-Service Teacher Association (ANPSTA) has written a representation to the Principal Director, Directorate of School Education, Nagaland for recruitment of TET qualified primary teachers in 532 posts lying vacant in the state.
The association in its memorandum cited the lifting of the ban on appointment of primary teachers by the state government with effect from July 1 and stated that the move had come as a “great relief and satisfaction” to the association.
Pointing out that there are 532 Primary teacher posts lying vacant within the School Education department for fresh appointment, the association urged that the Directorate take swift action to fill the existing vacant post. It expressed disheartenment at the long wait and said that some its TET-qualified members are on the verge of becoming overage.
The memorandum added that the members had all passed the TET examination conducted in the year 2013 and 2016 which was held on the modalities and norms that “All appointment of teachers whether it is against resulting vacancies or new post creation shall be filled only by those who have qualified TET based on merit are eligible for appointment to the post of teachers in schools without going through any other written examinations in the state, except oral interview.”
In this regard, the association maintained that its members being professionally trained under SCERT – DIET centres, deserve to be considered for appointment to the 532 primary teachers post lying vacant in various schools within the state of Nagaland.
The memorandum issued a 30-day ultimatum to the Directorate and warned that in the event the representation was not considered within the said period, the association would have no other alternative but to further initiate its own course of action.
