Tuensang, September 2 (MExN): National people’s party (NPP) Tuensang district celebrated its Foundation Day cum birth anniversary of founding leader Lt PA Sangma on September 1 at District Office, Tuensang.
During the program, N Kaimang, State Vice President highlighted a brief life history of Lt PA Sangma. He added that Sangma was brought up from a poor family, yet toiled hard in every sphere of his life to uplift the NE people both in social and political field, stated a release from Kelep Chang, General Secretary.
He later encouraged the party leaders to be honest, committed and respect one other to keep the party more unified. Y Changsang, district President said that the Foundation Day should not be an ordinary day but consider the day as a day of blessing and honour to move forward to greater heights for the upliftment of the service of the public and party.
He also added that, NPP is very blessed to have Advisor Khumo and Imnatiba in the present Government under the leadership of Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio.
Changsang also read out the biography of PA Sangma and later unveiled a portrait of Lt PA Sangma.
The Presidents of five assembly constituency, 51 Noksen, 52 Longkhim/Chare, 54 Sadar-II and 57 Thonoknyu also spoke at the program. The program was chaired by HY Choba, District Youth President.
