PTCSU holds first Union Assembly

Phek, February 26 (MExN): The Phek Town Chakhesang Students’ Union held its 1st Union Assembly on February 25 at Phek Town Council Conference Hall where all the executives of the council, senior members and colony representatives were present.  

According to a press release, the Union Assembly Speaker Shurhosheyi Soho presided the meeting and highlighted the redrafted and amended constitution which was passed by the house with two-third majority.  

The release further informed of the resignation of the union vice president, general secretary, assistant general secretary and treasurer which was accepted by the house. President Thuputo Venuh inducted the newly elected office bearers on the vacant posts, it added.  

Finance Secretary Vese Rhakho later presented the finance report to the house while Nukuto Shijoh, Social and Cultural Secretary of the Chakhesang Students Union, delivered a short speech on behalf of the CSU.  

Meanwhile, the release informed that the house during the Union Assembly “unanimously agreed” to adopt the following agenda for the year 2017: to organise an inter school tournament within Phek town; to organise an intensive free coaching class for Class 10 students; to organise a seminar on women welfare; to conduct surprise checking on educational institutions and government offices at any given point of time.
