On the occasion, Etsungmomo Kikon, President, Lotha Hoho, the chief guest of the day, exhorting the parents said, “We have to see twenty years ahead and teach our children of our cultures and traditions and give them right direction. Parents cannot forget their responsibility towards their children. Our society has become so complex and so we have to see the security of our children.”

Sr. Teresa Kamei, in her keynote address emphasised on the role of parents in the lives of children, importance of child psychology and the ill effect of media. Understanding the stages of child development helps parents know what to expect and how to best support the child as she or he grows and develops. Prayer unites hearts and strengthens bonds. Children have the right to grow up in an environment in which they are enabled to reach their full potential in life. It is the duty of parents, other caregivers and family members, communities, civil society and governments to ensure that these rights are respected, protected and fulfilled, she added.
