111 GMS upgraded to HS to be functional from this academic session

Nagaland Governor PB Acharya today said that under RMSA, 533 Graduate Teachers have been appointed to man the 111 Government Middle Schools upgraded to High Schools, which will be functional from this academic session. He said all efforts are being made to improve quality of education in government schools.  

Currently, rationalization of schools and teachers are in good progress, he said, adding that the process of streamlining of personnel management in the Department of School Education and budget monitoring in the Directorate has drastically brought down expenditure on salaries.

For improvement of quality education, he said, 47 science and 68 math teachers have been selected through open interview and posted in Government Middle Schools, especially in the far flung areas of the state.  

200 Primary Teachers have been selected through open interview to be posted in the districts of Mon, Tuensang and Kiphire, Acharya said, adding “This will greatly mitigate the issue of deficit teachers in Government Primary Schools in these districts.”  

Also, 456 toilets have been constructed in schools for the children.  

The Governor said under the Department of Labour & Employment, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, 12,487 youth have been trained in various sectors and 2,727 candidates got placements. The Ministry of Labour & Employment, Government of India has also approved establishment of a Vocational Rehabilitation Centre for differently abled persons in Nagaland, he added.
