12 entrepreneurs attend intensive barista training

Altogether 12 entrepreneurs from eight districts across the state successfully completed the five-day intensive Barista training organized by the Department of Land Resources (DoLR) with Barista Toakaito, Vito and Nzanthung as resource persons from August 10 to 14.

Addressing the gathering, DoLR Director, Renben Lotha urged the trainees to be an agent of the department as they go back to their respective district. He assured to extend all possible help from the department. Sharing the benefit of coffee and the livelihood generated through it, the director appealed the trainee to be promote Nagaland coffee and natural tea and asked them to use our own product as much as possible in their coffee shop, “in this way we also encourage the growers and take pride in our produce,” he added.  

The objective of the training was to equip educated youth to be self-employed by equipping with all essential barista skills required to establish own coffee bars, the director informed.

Two trainees, Tavinto and Limasungla while sharing their experience expressed gratitude to the department. Certificate was awarded based on the written and practical exam, which was conducted during the training period. Altogether nine modules and 10 barista skills such as expresso machine operation, expresso machine cleaning and maintenance, manual brewing, basic latte art, milk frothing techniques and range of coffee drink were imparted by in-house professional barista.
