14 teachers conferred state level teachers’ award

The state’s education department today honoured 14 teachers with state level teachers’ award in recognition of their immense contribution. It was handed over by chief secretary Temjen Toy during a state level teachers’ day celebration here at NBCC convention hall.
H. Ghutoll Sema
Primary Teacher GPS Akuluto (Zunheboto)
She has successfully mobilized drop-out children to attend and enroll in the school with her valuable service. She has prepared low cost teaching learning materials to demonstrate in the classroom which created more interest among the learners. She has not availed any leave in the last 3 years. She received District Teachers' Award in 2013.
Phamyei Konyak
Primary Teacher, GMS Choknyu village (Mon)
She is an ideal teacher and role model to the students. Her enthusiasm for teaching and love for the students motivates the students to produce good results. She leads an exemplary life. She received Sub-Divisional Teachers' Award 2009 and District Teachers' Award in 2011.
Lino Chang
Primary Teacher, GMS Post office, (Tuensang)
She acts as a mentor as well as a friend to her pupils so that they are able to express their thoughts freely. She makes use of innovative teaching aids and materials to enable her students to experience joyful learning. She assess her students regularly through CCE and awards the meritorious ones with gifts like pencils, notebooks etc whereas for the weaker students, she uses new strategies to make them learn better and improve. She received District Teachers' Award in 2016.
Mariamma Cherian
Graduate Teacher, Government Higher Secondary School (Pfutsero)
She has given special care for children coming from weaker section of the society by offering free extra remedial classes in Mathematics in her neighbourbood. Cherian has given individual attention to academically weak students and has also given supportive measures to average and brilliant students. She has received District Teachers' Award in 2009, Cash Awards by school Authority four times for producing star marks in Mathematics, Best Teacher Award from students 2 times.
Apilu Kamei
Assistant Teacher, Chawang School Samziuram (Peren)
She motivates the students to strive for excellence and achieve exceptionally good results. She constantly evaluates and improves teaching tools and seek ways to enhance her student learning process. In the last three years, 13 students have scored letter marks in her subject- Social Sciences.
Neizelhoulie Seyie
Language Teacher, GHSS Medziphema (Dimapur)
She actively assists students in nurturing the young minds and their potentiality. To develop a sense of work culture, dignity of labour and learning by doing, girl students are encouraged to learn traditional women's works such as weaving of shawls and bags, cleaning of rice etc. Seyie also encouraged boys to learn traditional men's works such as weaving baskets, wood carving, use of machetes in cleaning the surroundings etc. He received the District Teachers' Award in 2012.
Biswajit Paul
Headmaster, MGM Higher Secondary School (Dimapur)
He is a teacher of outstanding merit. In HSLC and HSSLC examination several of his students achieved subject topper in his social science subject. In 2019, the school bagged Ist rank in HSSLC (Commerce) and 2nd rank in HSSLC (Arts). He also dedicated 10 years of service a Scout Master for Bharat Scouts and Guides movement in the school. Paul received District Teachers Award in 1998 and the Pearson Teaching Award in 2013.
Ram Pratap Maurya
Graduate Teacher, GHS Salomi (Kiphire)
He has given extra time to re-teach the weakest of the students and conducted special classes for slow learners. He has helped drop-out students to return to school through counseling. He applies effective methods of teaching through pictures and practical experiments. Maurya believes a teacher should join this profession to guide and motivate the new generation and be a role model in the society. He received District Teachers Award in 2017.
Kikrulhoulie Khezhie
Graduate Teacher, GMS D-Khel, Kohima village
He put his effort to transform the school as a community centre involving the parents and guardians of the students in the all round development of the students. He is sympathetic patient and tolerant towards his pupils and colleagues and is able to solve their problems in times of need and difficulties. His innovative skill in teaching and tireless efforts to uplift the school infrastructure is highly appreciated. He received District Teachers' Award 2014.
O. Baukam Phom
Primary Teacher, GMS Anaki-P (Longleng)
Through his initiative, students have taken part in imparting awareness on environmental protection in the village. He has has initiated craft making class with the aim of "Work and Eat' and also to develop survival skills. In 2018, Class-IV Primary School Leaving Examination, 7 students from GMS Anaki had secured top 10 rank under SDEO Longleng. He received District Teachers' Award in 2010.
Tomy John
Graduate Teacher, Mayangnokcha GHSS (Mokokchung)
As a teacher, his co-operation and prompt help in the system aided teaching and learning of Mathematics for secondary classes is exemplary and it has made learning the subject easier and more interesting for the students of class 9 & 10. He has been giving Mathematics coaching classes for Class 10 students whenever asked for and even during Winter by sacrificing his holidays. He encouraged students to learn and speak English as it gives them great advantage in life in the arena of higher education and employment opportunities. He is also well versed in philosophy and religion. He received District Teachers Award in 2018.
Haireudi Kamlak
Physical Education Teacher, GHSS (Peren)
Besides being the physical education teacher, he was assigned to teach Mathematics and Science subjects for classes 6&7 from 2001-2015. He has served as the school computer assistant from 2009 till date. He has actively involved in Bharat Scouts & Guides activities and was also awarded the Long Term Decoration Medal by the Governor of Nagaland. He received District Teachers' Award in 2016.
Tek Bahadur
Headmaster Springdale School (Wokha)
He is a highly valued teacher in the school. He is a friend, philosopher and a guide to all the teachers as well as to the students. He has special concern for all those who are not able to perform to their fullest potential. He makes sure that all such students are made to sit for the remedial classes and personally supervise them. He organizes one or the other activity every working Saturday. He has been instrumental in building a bridge between the school and the parents as well as the society. He received District Teachers' Award in 2014.
Arun Kumar Singh
Assistant Teachers, St. John Higher Secondary School, (Tuensang)
As a teacher, he always updates his knowledge through modern technologies and disseminates the knowledge to the students. He makes use of smart class to motivate his students with his innovative and skillful teachings. He led his student's team to win the State Level Science Fair 2018 on the theme "Scientific Solution: Challenges in life". He received District Teachers' Award in 2013.
