Forerunners FC beat defending champion Barak FC to reach final

Forerunners FC 4th NAP today booked the final berth of the ongoing 17th NSF Martyrs' Memorial Trophy 2016 (in memory of Late Kekuojalie Sachii & late Vikhozo Yhoshii) under the aegis of Angami Students’ Union (ASU) under the theme “Goal for Peace” here at the Kohima Local Ground.
In an exciting second semi finals match, Forerunners FC beat defending champion Barak FC by a solitary goal. The match witnessed a goalless draw till the first half.
The winning goal for Forerunners FC came through Vekhriito in the 71st minute.

Medoneituo,Vekhriito and Kechie of Forerunners and M. Raja of Barak FC were cautioned with a yellow card each. With today’s win, Forerunners FC will now clash with Nagaland Police (Red) in the finals on October 22.
Dr. Kevi Rio, joint mission director RSMA graced the 2nd semi final match as the chief guest.
Earlier in the morning, an exciting exhibition match was played between Angami Students’ Union (ASU) senior leaders and Kohima Bar Association (KBA); the ASU seniors drubbed the latter by a margin of 5 goals to 2.
The 1st half saw only 1 goal scored in favour of ASU Seniors which came through the boots of Victor in the 24th minute. In the second half Kedozo of ASU Seniors doubled the lead in the 42nd minute. The 1st goal in favour of KBA was netted by Tsitho in the 49th minute. The 3rd goal for ASU was converted beautifully by Voto through a spot kick in the 55th minute. Just 3 minutes later Victor found the net again in the 58th minute. Voto (23) scored another goal in the 59th minute making it 5 goals for ASU seniors. KBA fought back strong and in stoppage time, Tsitho of KBA found the net again.
Wapang and Seto of KBA and Andrew and Thepfiilie of ASU were cautioned with yellow cards.
Roko Angami, former international footballer and president Nagaland Football Coaches Association graced the exhibition match as chief guest. Advocate Nancy presented a special number.
