The number of COVID-19 cases in Manipur has risen to 32 as three more returnees tested positive for the virus in the last 24 hours, an official said on Sunday.
An update report of the Manipur Health department showed an increase of three cases after three out of 489 samples tested were found positive for COVID-19.
With the three cases, Manipur has now 32 COVID-19 infected patients with 28 active cases and four recoveries.
Of the 28 active cases, 21 are being treated at the COVID-19 care facility of JNIMS hospital while the remaining 11 are being treated at the facility at RIMS hospital, Imphal.
As per the official report, two new active cases of COVID-19 were confirmed on Saturday night at the VRDL, RIMS. Of the two latest infected persons, one 32 year-old male, hails from Jiribam district while the other patient, a 25-year-old female hails from Thoubal district. They were among 204 samples tested for the virus at the RIMS’s VRDL.
During the same period, an 18-year-old male was also confirmed for the disease at the VRDL, JNIMS. He is from Churachandpur district and recently returned from Chennai.
