PCCF & HoFF encourages to be committed forest officers
Dimapur, September 3 (MExN): The convocation of 38th batch Forest Guard training course was held at State Environment & Forestry Training Institute (SEFTI) located in Dimapur on August 31. This year, a total of 25 Forest Guard trainees from 16 different divisions completed the six months mandatory training course conducted by the institute, informed a press release from Assistant Director, SEFTI, Dimapur. The training was held from March to August, 2017.
The overall ‘Best Forester of the batch’ was awarded to Y. Khopenthung Shitiri from Doyang Plantation Division. I Panger Jamir (IFS), Principal Chief Conservator of Forest & Head of Forest Force (PCCF & HoFF), Nagaland, who was the chief guest at the event, thanked all the rank and file of the department for their contribution in some of the exemplary achievements made by the department, especially the preparation of Forest Management Plan for the whole State. Nagaland is the first state in the whole country to achieve that, it was informed. He also encouraged the newly trained Foresters to be more committed forest officers, and to maintain and live up to the dignity of the uniform they wear.
The convocation programme was chaired by Dr. N. Senthil Kumar IFS, Conservator of Forests (RPU), Nagaland, while annual report of the institute and declaration of results was given by Hukato Chishi (IFS), Director, SEFTI. The vote of thanks was pronounced by Limaangtet Jamir, Faculty, SEFTI.
