30th KGOU annual general session concludes

Mon, April 8 (MExN): The Konyak Gazetted Officers’ Union (KGOU) held its 30th annual general session on April 7 at Mon Town.

According to a press release from the Union, the session was graced by W Honje Konyak, Commissioner and Secretary, Department of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources, Nagaland as the special guest. Wango Langsym, President KGOU, felicitated the special guest on being the first among the Konyak administrative officers to be appointed as Commissioner and Secretary in the State government.

The KGOU also felicitated Anden Konyak, IAS, for being inducted into the prestigious Indian Administrative Service and Dr Yingngam Wangnaolim, for her achievement in Medical Post Graduation from the Kerala University of Health Sciences in 2020. The KGOU also congratulated and welcomed the new members of the Union and wished them a bright and illustrious career ahead.

W Honje Konyak emphasized on the use of Konyak language in the programmes of the Konyak organizations in order to preserve and promote the richness and the originality of the Konyak language.

He stated that being one among the very few officers in the Konyak community implies a position of regard as well as a huge responsibility to uplift the underprivileged.

Howing Konyak, President of the Konyak Union asserted that the services of the Konyak officers are needed not just within Mon district but also in different parts of the State.

Rev M Chemyuh Konyak, Executive Secretary KBBB dedicated and pronounced a prayer of blessing on the new office bearers of the KGOU for the tenure 2021-2023 which will be led by Er Chinglang Konyak as President.
