320 volunteers join cleanliness drive in Zunheboto

A mass cleanliness drive organised by My Bharat Zunheboto, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India was held at Zunheboto under the theme, ‘Workshop on Flagship’ on July 19 last. The was initiated by ‘My Bharat Zunheboto’ in collaboration with Zunheboto Town Council (ZTC) and All Nagaland Private School Association (ANPSA) Zunheboto Unit at Zunheboto. 

A total of 320 volunteers, teacher in-charges from different schools participated. A total of eight private schools and nine NSS students from Zunheboto Government College participated. The schools included Woodland Higher Secondary School, Cornerstone Higher Secondary School, Olympic Higher Secondary School, Bloomfield Hill Higher Secondary School, Love Dale School, Merry Hill School, Sunbeam School, and Step by Step School.

Hutoka Zhimomi Councillor ZTC, Sanitation Incharge and Sukhalu Chishi, NCS, SDO Zunheboto also took part in the programme.

Students and volunteers collected a total of 180 polybags of waste, weighing approximately 3,600 kg. Olympic Higher Secondary School and Cornerstone Higher Secondary School contributed the most, with 64 polybags each.
